About the Film
On the heels of the historic repeal of the United States military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, actor Marc Wolf, filmmaker John C. Walsh (Ed’s Next Move, Pipe Dream) and Creative Consultant Mary Harron (American Psycho, I Shot Andy Warhol) bring Wolf’s acclaimed one-man Off-Broadway show to the screen. The text was created verbatim from tape-recorded interviews conducted between 1997-1999 with hundreds of soldiers and veterans, male and female, gay and straight. Marc distills them into compelling portraits that are alternately funny, brutal, poignant, and tragic. These are the true stories of America’s gay soldiers, told in their own words.
