Laura Parker (Director, King Lear)
Laura Parker is a Drama Teacher at Gordonstoun School, who enjoys her time with the students age 11 – 18. She works in the Drama Department to take classes through GCSE and A Level exams, and has Directed and Co-directed many extra-curricular productions. Recent performances include American Idiot, Avenue Q and Grease, with smaller cast plays Find Me, Marat/Sade, and The Rise and Fall of Little Voice. Laura takes delight in unexpected solutions to theatrical challenges, and believes in keeping a healthy sense of humour whilst creating magical theatre. She particularly enjoys collaborating with husband Rob, creating ensemble style shows that incorporate physical theatre and music. Last October saw Gordonstoun’s interpretation of Romeo and Juliet visit Brooklyn’s Middle School 51, and Laura is very much looking forward to the intensive weeks of the Piper Theatre Workshop to create an exciting version of King Lear with Rob.
