Congratulations to John P. McEneny for his play, Pollywog, being accepted into the NYU Steinhardt New Plays for Young Audiences.
Pollywog, by playwright and teacher John P. McEneny, is about a young girl from a conservative Christian community whose life becomes undone during her senior year when she falls in love with an atheist refugee from the republic of Georgia. Pollywog was originally workshopped at Piper with a cast that included Anna Aaronson, Vasile Flutur, Kim Fenwick, Henry Pines, Yangchen Gruben, Tessa Ochshorn, Teddy Ostrow, and Nicholas Guastella. Annie Montgomery will direct the new version.
Readings are on Saturday, June 7, at 7:30pm and Sunday, June 8, at 3pm.
Auditions for New Plays for Young Audiences: Friday, May 2, 7:00-9:45p.m. and Saturday, May 3, 9 am -2 pm.
Sign up online. Please prepare a one minute monologue and bring a headshot or similar picture. You will need to know your schedule between June 1 and 22, including any potential conflicts. We rehearse 6 – 10 pm Sunday through Friday and 12 – 4 pm Saturday. Readings are Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon.
