A Piper summer is all about adventure!
Company members collaborate to create a full-scale production. Days are filled with physical theatre; ‘specials’ classes on stage combat, clowning, and improvisation; and ‘Fun Fridays,’ when the entire Piper community plays group games or engages in a process drama!
Performances take place the week of July 25- 28 with a full day of performances July 29. Due to the performance nature of the program, students are expected to attend EVERY day.
Auditions take place on the first day, July 5. While preferences for workshops are considered, placement in a particular company is NOT guaranteed.
As You Like It
By William Shakespeare
Directed by Aaron Novak
Rosalind and Celia run away to the forest of Arden. Mistaken identities, first confusing love and wrestling matches!
Where total immersion in on-line life is normal, how do you feel anything real? ‘Clockwork Unwound’ is a new play exploring the themes of Anthony Burgess’ ‘A Clockwork Orange’ for today’s Young Droogs. A physical theatre piece to be devised in part by the cast during rehearsal, ‘Clockwork Unbound’ is a fast moving high energy re-imagining of Burgess’s world that is frighteningly close to the truth.
The Mystery of the Yarn Barn
By Cormack McWilliams
What evils lie beneath the innocent craft store? Detective Duncan Lantigua investigates!
Pippi Longstocking and the Pirates
Inspired by Astrid Lindgren’s adventures
Directed by Lindsey Sproul
Pippi is mischievous, kooky and mysteriously strong, living on her own in a giant house with her monkey.
