Starlings Summer Drama Workshops 2015

*** Due to popular demand, we have opened up two additional Starlings workshops.

Session 1: A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Shakespeare’s delightful romp featuring Kings and queens, hilarious rustics, quarreling friends and lots of magical fairies!

Session 2: Wild Things

A devised piece for live actors and shadows

What does it mean to be “wild”?  What does it mean to be “nice”?  Loosely inspired by the beloved children’s classic, Wild Things
will combine live performance with shadow puppets to look at the jungle that lives within each imagination.

Created for younger artists, the Starlings is an immersive experience where children learn the very basics of stagecraft.  During the first week, Starlings companies work as ensembles in a process-based exploration of their play with roles assigned at the end of the first week.  Students design their own sets and costumes and collaborate to present a 30-minute play at the end of the second week.

Due to the performance nature of the program, students must attend every day.

This education program is one of Piper’s most popular and fills up quickly.  Don’t delay!

For more information about Starlings, please contact Maggie Weber, maggie@pipertheatre.org.
